Maritime Case Ltd. is now accepting applications for a Service Manager. Located in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Maritime Case is the sole CASE Construction dealership serving New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia.
The Service Manager is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of the service department which includes technicians and service administration. This position builds, and strengthens, customer relationships while ensuring the integration of departmental goals with company operations. The primary focus of this position is to drive growth, productivity and high-quality customer satisfaction by developing and directing the service team.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Oversee and manage the service department’s operations and scheduling by providing clear directions and expectations to shop and road technicians for the jobs to be completed.
- Ensure completion of shop maintenance and repair work.
- Address customer complaints and inquiries in a courteous, professional manner.
- Responsible for staff recruitment, hiring, terminations and performance management.
- Maintain appropriate levels of staff to complete service work in a timely manner.
- Manage the morale in the shop by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with employees, suppliers and customers.
- Ensure all employees adhere to company policies and procedures.
- Maintain shop cleanliness and a safe work environment.
- Provide clear communication with customers, staff and other department heads.
- Provide accurate estimates for service jobs.
- Schedule pickup, deliveries, and repair timeline of customer and internal equipment
- Review and finalize work orders for billing to customers.
- Book appropriate product training for service team.
- Organize and control expenses to meet budget expectations.
- Overtime will be required.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and educational background:
- 5+ years management experience in a technical environment.
- Effective and proven leadership skills with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
- Proven mechanical abilities and strong working knowledge of mechanical application or repair techniques.
- Ability to identify key issues and to strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- High level of integrity, discretion and accountability.
- Ability to work independently, and under pressure, in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to always deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically and professionally.
- Ability to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Post secondary degree or diploma in business administration or mechanical field.
